Blarney Castle
We'll hit the road early, heading for the iconic Blarney castle. Situated on acres of beautifully maintained gardens – Blarney Castle dates all the way back to the 1200's and attracts millions of visitors annually. Of course, while you're here it is mandatory to kiss the Blarney Stone – doing so will bestow upon you what we Irish call 'the gift of the gab' – or the talent of eloquent storytelling. You can enjoy the chance to shop at the 'Blarney Woollen Mills', where you can buy beautiful Irish knitwear, gifts and accessories – all at fantastic tax-free prices. -
Cork - Kinsale
We then continue our journey, driving through the beautiful Cork countryside, en route to Cork city. Driving through the city – you can enjoy the chance to see some of the city's highlights, including the English Market and the Shannon Bells. Our next stop is the picture-postcard village of Kinsale. A coastal village, Kinsale is absolutely charming, with quaint winding streets and traditional thatched cottages. Famous in Irish History as the location of the 'Battle of Kinsale' in 1601 – today the village is known for being the 'foodie capital of Ireland'. Indeed, the cuisine on offer in Kinsale is incredible and features the very best of Irish ingredients. Naturally, we make Kinsale our lunch stop (time permitting) and your guide will be happy to recommend some great dining options to you! -
Cobh
Departing Kinsale – we make our way towards the village of Cobh, where your guide will outline the sad history of the village to you. This is the location where droves of Irish emigrants said their final goodbyes to the Emerald Isle as they set off for new lives in North America and beyond. It was also the final departure point of the ill-fated RMS Titanic, in 1912. Visit the Titanic memorial in Cobh, or just enjoy some quiet time to look at over the harbor and capture some pictures of the brightly painted houses in the town. -
